Spire Corp., a supplier of solar electric manufacturing equipment and solar systems, has delivered two second and third hand SPI-ASSEMBLER 5000s to Flabeg Solar International GmbH, a German manufacturer of large-area photovoltaic (PV) modules and systems.
The SPI-ASSEMBLER 5000 is an advanced solar cell assembly machine which is also a key element in the PV module manufacturing process. This assembly machine automatically interconnects solar cells into strings by aligning and soldering copper leads to the cell contacts. The strings, in turn, are fabricated into finished modules.
Spire's SPI-ASSEMBLER 5000 assembly lines have been installed in the Flabeg 's new production line in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. The units now in operation have the optional feature of a vision system for alignment, and defect testing and have successfully processed solar cells made by cell manufacturers. |
