Oracle Corp. and Ericsson will jointly offer 3G applications that will make it possible for Java developers to develop network applications without needing extensive knowledge of signal and telecom technology.

The Oracle9i JDeveloper and Ericsson Jambala Service Capability Server (SCS) Simulator will allow Java programmers to develop, test, and debug 3G applications that can be deployed on the Oracle9i Application Server and accessed via Ericsson's Jambala Parlay Gateway.

These applications will also enable third party developers and independent software vendors (ISVs) to extend applications in order to leverage the existing telecom network or develop new applications for next-generation networks.

The Oracle9i JDeveloper and Ericsson SCS can be deployed on Oracle9i Application Server which supports the open Parlay APIs defined by the Parlay Group, a multi-vendor, non-profit organization working to standardize APIs so applications can access core telecom network capabilities.
