Industry-focused tech forums highlight ESC-Asia 2002

The technology forum focuses on the latest technologies and industry issues.
The 2nd annual Embedded Systems Conferences ? Asia (ESC-Asia), which takes place from July 30 at the Taipei International Convention Center, features the addition of two industry-focused technology forums. The forums will deal with current issues facing Taiwan's electronics makers.

The technical forum on July 30 will focus on trends and challenges in information appliance (IA) design and the effect on the future development of this industry. Entitled "Tomorrow's innovations in IA design," the forum will gather experts from Wind River Systems Inc., MontaVista Software Inc., Microsoft Corp. and IBM Microelectronics to discuss design methodologies, trade-offs, operating-system selection, UI design, protocol conformance and emerging design trends.

The presentation on July 31?Designing the future wireless networking devices?expolores next-generation wireless communications and wireless networking applications, including home networking, Bluetooth and IEEE 802.11. Speakers are composed of experts from Intel Microelectronics Asia Ltd and NewLogic Technologies Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, among others.

ESC-Asia is comprised of an exhibition of international vendors, technical vendor seminars and industry-focused forums. The vendor-sponsored seminars allow engineers to learn about new technologies from different companies worldwide. Last year, a total of 1,954 visitors attended the show, 54 percent of which are engineers.

The Embedded Systems Conferences series is said to be the world's largest showcase of embedded technologies. It is now on its 12th year of introducing new developments in embedded systems to engineers around the world. Earlier this year, the conferences were held in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen, where more than 20,000 visitors from the electronics industry attended.

ESC-Asia is an eeEvent organized by eMedia Asia Ltd, a Global Sources and CMP Media joint venture.
