ADI CMOS switches offer 0.5-ohm maximum on-resistance

Analog Devices Inc. has announced the availability of its ADG8XX family of monolithic CMOS SPST and SPDT switches that offer a maximum on-resistance of 0.5 ohms and are suitable for use in battery-powered instruments such as PDAs or cellphones.

Manufactured using an advanced sub-micron process to minimize the resistance, the ADG8XX family operates from a single 1.8V to 5.5V supply and are rated for operation over the extended temperature range of -400C to 1250C.

The ADG801/02 SPST switches offer a typical resistance of 0.25 ohm (5V, 250C) and carry up to 400mA of current. Offered in 5SOIC and SOT-23 packages, the switches dissipate <0.015W and are priced at 88 cents each in 1,000-unit quantities.

Also offered in 5SOIC and SOT-23 packages, the ADG819/20 SPDTs offer a typical resistance of 0.5 ohm and carry up to 200mA. They are priced at 93 cents each in 1,000-unit quantities.

The ADG821/22/23 dual SPST devices also offer a typical resistance of 0.5 ohm and carry up to 200mA. They are priced at 98 cents each for 1,000 pieces and are shipped in 5SOIC casings.
