Keywords:Sun Microsystems? Connected Limited Device Configuration? Mobile Information Device Profile? JA108 Universal Acceleration chip? Java architecture?

Nazomi Communications Inc. has licensed Sun Microsystems' Connected Limited Device Configuration (CLDC) and Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP).

Nazomi will be incorporating Sun's CLDC and MIDP into its JA108 Universal Acceleration chip for Java architectures and in its JSTAR and JSMART acceleration technologies. Both CLDC and MIDP are part of the Java 2 Platform and Micro Edition J2ME platform, a scaled down version of the Java platform that is targeted for use in smaller footprint mobile and consumer products.

"Entering into this agreement with Sun enables us to deliver a complete development environment to our customer base. Now, as part of Nazomi's universal acceleration solutions, we can enable OEMs to develop their end products faster and with a higher level of confidence so that they will perform to end users' increasing sophisticated requirements," said Jay Kamdar, COO and VP of sales and marketing at Nazomi.
