The LTC5507 RF power detector from Linear Technology Corp. can detect RF input power levels ranging from -34dBm to 14dBm at a frequency range of 100kHz to 1GHz, making the device suitable for envelope detectors, wireless data modems, AM and ASK demodulators, optical power detectors, mobile phones, and wireless/cable infrastructure.
The 6-pin ThinSOT device includes an RF peak detector and level-shift amplifier, a gain compression circuit, an internally-compensated buffer amplifier, a shutdown circuit, and a delay circuit to avoid output voltage transients when coming out of shutdown.
It also has an on-chip, temperature-compensated Schottky diode peak detector with extended dynamic range and an output buffer, to maximize the accuracy and dynamic range.
The device operate from a 2.7V to 6V power supply, and draws 5505A during operation and <25A during shutdown mode. The detector has a 1.5MHz modulation bandwidth and is rated for operation at a temperature range of -400C to 850C.
Pricing begins at $1.45 each in 1,000-piece quantities. |
