Xantrex Technology Inc. has announced the addition of a 12kW model for its XDC series of programmable digital control power supply, to meet the high power requirements in ATE, production test, urn-in, bulk power, and OEM applications.

"Building on the remarkable success of our XDC 6kW [model], the XDC 12kW meets the growing demand for more power in a compact package," said Larry Soldaty, VP of sales and marketing for Xantrex's programmable power products.

"Our 12kW model offers the proven performance and reliability of the XDC series and 20 percent more power than competitive 10kW products for about the same price," Soldaty added.

An embedded controller provides the series with a unique sequencing capability, allowing users to enter and save complex test sequences without the need for external computers and software. Up to 10 different test programs, each capable of 99 voltages level steps, can be constructed and executed by a manual or external trigger.

Ten configurations of differing protection and output set points can also be stored, recalled, or set for default at startup.

The 264.16-by-482.6-by-601.98mm device produces a three-phase 208Vac output with an option for a three-phase 324Vac to 500Vac range. It features power factor correction, zero voltage soft switching, and remote sense with 5V line loss compensation.

The XDC 12kW is priced at $6,170.
