NEC Compound Semiconductor Devices Ltd has announced the release of a series of SiGe transistorsincluding a 5GHz modelsuitable for HF amplifier applications in WLAN and mobile communications.

Developed using the company's SiGeHBT semiconductor process technology, the transistors are positioned to replace GaAs devices.

The SiGe transistors are offered in both a low-noise, high-gain and middle output types. The series also features a breakdown voltage between the collector and emitter that is 1.5 times higher than the current 5V level.

Pricing ranges from 26 cents to 43 cents.
