Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd has introduced what it claims to be the industry's first graphics memory chip on DDR II spec and boasts of a data transmission rate >1GHz.

The 128Mb chip is capable of transmitting 4GBps of data and is suited for systems that require high memory speed and performance such as 3D graphics, gaming, and network applications.

Shipped in an FBGA package, the SDRAM incorporates On-Die-Termination, Off-Chip driver-Calibration, and posted CAS technologies to boost performance and support high-speed operation. The chip also supports a 1.8V I/O voltage, thereby minimizing power consumption.
