1st Silicon to adopt Virtual Silicon's semiconductor IP

Virtual Silicon Technology Inc. has received an order to port its semiconductor intellectual property (SIP) to the 0.185m process technology of Malaysia-based wafer foundry 1st Silicon. The agreement covers Virtual Silicon's standard cell library as well as two I/O pad libraries.

"Virtual Silicon is one of the industry's well-known providers of quality SIP," claims S.Y. Tan-Stahel, marketing vice president at 1st Silicon. "In addition to foundation IP, customers look to Virtual Silicon for a wide range of products including high-speed interface, PLL and memories. Our collaboration opens another gateway to foundry support for our customers."
