Toumaz Technology Ltd, a spin-off company of Imperial College in London, is developing ultra low-power Advanced Mixed Signal systems (AMx) with standardized front-to-back analog design flows based on the tools and methodology services by Cadence Design Systems Inc.

Specifically, Toumaz is using Cadence's custom Virtuoso IC layout tools, Spectre Circuit and RF Simulation, Cadence Analog Design Environment, and Diva physical verification. Further, the company will utilize Cadence's methodology services in its digital synthesis and layout.

According to Toumaz, the low-power nature of the AMx makes this technology suitable for applications on the human computer interface, such as biomedical, biometric, sensing, signal processing, and personal communication applications.
