Pletronics Inc. has replaced its SM1145JM fixed-frequency (32.768kHz) clock oscillator with the S3883 series. Priced from $1.45 in 10,000-piece quantities, the devices are designed for wireless and PCMCIA applications that demand small size and long battery life. The oscillators operate at 32.768kHz and have a startup time of <0.5s.

The parts span the 1.5V to 5V operating range and are said to consume no more than 205A of current with a 15pF load when running at 5V.

Packaging options include a 14-pin DIP metal through-hole, four-pad miniature surface-mount package, and SMT packages compatible with the company's SM11 series.
