SBS Technologies has introduced the FC2312 family of 2Gb Fiber Channel host bus adapters (HBAs) that provide space-constrained embedded, real-time networking, and storage applications with two independent channels on a single-wide PMC format.
Each channel supports 400MBps full-duplex, 200MBps half-duplex data transfer rates, and automatically negotiates the Fiber Channel bit rate. The FC2312-PMC-FF features two fiber-optic ports that support multimode LC duplex fiber-optic cable, while the FC2312-PMC-CC model provides two copper interfaces via high-speed serial data connectors.
The company claims that by implementing two independent data paths on a PMC, the FC2312 HBAs can support two concurrently operating Fiber Channel nodes while requiring only one PMC site on a processor card or carrier card, supporting peer-to-peer communications, design flexibility, and integration.
The FC2312 hardware is shipped with software drivers for Linux, Solaris, and Windows NT/2000 OSs. VxWorks device drivers are provided for MCP750, Pentium, K2, and CT7 platforms. Porting kits are included for PowerPC604, PowerPC403, and Intel X86 platforms.
List price for FC2312-PMC-FF is $1,991 and FC2312-PMC-CC is $1,591. |
