Claimed to offer improved ruggedness at a lower cost than previous generation devices, the Co-Packs consist of a 600V IGBT and a HEXFRED fast recovery diode rated at 5A, 7A, 12A, or 20A in a single package configured for half-bridge or inverter topology.
They feature a reverse-bias safe operating area and 105s shortcircuit capability, delivering improved ruggedness during start-up and abnormal current and voltage spikes.
The devices are also claimed to have a low current "tail" at turn-off, significantly reducing switching energy losses compared to previous generations and allowing modulated frequencies up to 20kHz. The higher modulated frequencies allow better torque control at lower speeds as well as reduced audible noise.
Pricing starts at 71.1 cents each in 10,000-unit quantities. |
