Cypress Semiconductor Corp. has begun sampling its 16Mb asynchronous SRAMs manufactured using the company's 0.155m RAM7 process technology, enabling speed of up to 8ns and providing designers with a drop-in replacement to upgrade their existing systems with higher-performance and higher-density SRAMs.

The 3.3V devices are targeted for wireless infrastructure and WAN applications such as ADSL modems, DSP, and optical networking interfaces.

Cypress offers the CY7C1061AV (1Mx16) and CY7C1069AV (2Mx8) devices in a 54-pin TSOP II or 48-ball FBGA package. Another model, the CY7C1062AV, is offered in a 512Kx32 configuration and is available in a 119-ball PBGA package.
