LSI Logic Corp. has selected Standard Microsystems Corp.'s (SMSC) GT3100 USB 2.0 Transceiver (PHY) technology to be used on its ComCentrix peripheral I/O solution, which features a modular architecture that accommodates the integration of connectivity solutions such as USB 2.0, Bluetooth, and 802.11b, for printer and other peripheral applications.

The GT3100 is SMSC's latest addition to its family of USB 2.0 products for networking, computing, consumer electronics, and embedded system applications.

"SMSC's USB 2.0 UTMI complements our portfolio of connectivity solutions, and provides a significant benefit to our customers. The SMSC team accelerated our design cycle with their support, including reference designs, evaluation boards, application notes, and silicon samples, all of which have contributed to a win-win relationship." said Ahmad Khanssari, marketing director in the ASIC division, LSI.
