Zoran licenses MIPS processor cores

Zoran Corp. has licensed MIPS Technologies Inc.'s MIPS32 4KE family of cores to provide the former with an industry-standard architecture for future product roadmaps, including digital camera, digital TV receivers, and DVD solutions.

"With this agreement, we now have access to the latest low-power MIPS core family, as well as a standard architecture supported by an infrastructure of software, development tools, and IP that will help ensure the success of our product roadmap going forward and that of our customers," said Ram Ofir, VP of engineering and general manager of Zoran's Advanced Technology Center.
