Texas Instruments Inc. has introduced the THS4271/5 series of operational amplifiers that offer a unity gain stability with 1.4GHz unity-gain bandwidth, 900V/5s slew rate, distortion of -84dBc (2Vpp output, 30MHz) and a 2.8nV/sqrt-Hz voltage noise density.

The combination of these features enables the amplifiers to attain a higher performance in signal acquisition chains for wireless communications, test and measurement, medical imaging, and high-performance applications.

In wireless basestations, the op amps can drive high-speed 14-bit data converters, eliminating intermediate signal stages to reduce system costs. They can also be used in PLL filter circuits.

The devices use a voltage-feedback design and are manufactured using the company's second-generation complementary bipolar process technology. The THS4275 includes a power-down pin for the power conscious.

All the THS4271/5 devices are available in a leadless MSOP and MSOP casing.
