The CMX882 half-duplex audio and signalling processor from CML Microcircuits Ltd supports FRS, PMR446, GMRS, and MURS type radios, and features added data facilities for GPS capability.

Suited to be integrated into simple and complex handheld radios, the CMX882 operates from a single 2.7V rail and performs voiceband and subaudio filtering, pre- and deemphasis, compression and expansion, audio routing, and global level setting with single or two-point modulation available in the transmit path.

Enhanced CTCSS and DCS encoding and decoding is incorporated, while GPS location data transport is provided via a 1.2Kbps or 2.4Kbps FFSK/MSK packet data modem incorporating interleaving, FEC, CRC, and data scrambling functions.

Available in 28-pin SSOP and TSSOP packaging, the device also features the company's XTCSS Signalling technology to provide >99 squelch privacy codes and 'silent operation'.
