Matsushita LCD panel produces image, sound

Matsushita Electronic Components Co. Ltd has announced that it is sampling an LCD panel that is capable of producing images and sound, effectively reducing the component count of A/V and communication devices.

Suited for mobile phones, the device features a special sound-producing film, which acts as a receiver, placed on top of the LCD. Another version of the product can be used as a touch panel instead of a speaker when integrated into a PDA.
