Clare Inc. has announced the availability of the PAA140L optically-isolated, solid-state relay that offers 200mA (ac/dc mode) of load current capability along with an output current limit feature enabling designers to drive the relay directly from logic signals without the external components needed when using electromechanical relay solutions.

A part of the company's OptoMOS product line, the 2-Form-A device has a load voltage rating of 400V and a maximum on-resistance of 13 ohms, making the device suitable for use in process control, telecommunication, and data communications equipment. It dissipates 150mW and is rated of operation over the -400C to 850C temperature range.

The PAA140L is available in 8-pin DIPs and is priced a $2.85 each in 25,000 quantities.
