Spectra Logic, a manufacturer of tape libraries for data protection and backup, has joined the Cisco AVVID (Architecture for Voice, Video and Integrated Data) Partner program, as a Storage Networking Solutions Member. Membership to this program enables Spectra to provide broader connectivity options for servers utilizing the iSCSI technology.

Spectra's libraries have met Cisco AVVID's requirements for interoperability with the Cisco SN 5420 Storage Router v.2.1, allowing customers to connect both their iSCSI and Fibre Channel attached servers to the same library, thus centralizing all tape-related activities. Additionally, the investments of customers are protected by consolidated local backups, as well as remote backups for disaster recovery, in a single tape library.

The Cisco AVVID Partner Program is an interoperability testing and co-marketing program enabling software and services firms to deploy innovative e-business solutions. Cisco AVVID Partners support standards-based architectures and share a commitment to interoperate with Cisco's open integration platform technology.
