Gemtek Technology has integrated Intersil Corp.'s PRISM wireless networking chip set into its WX-2301 Easy Presentation Station, an IEEE 802.11b-compliant projector controller that enables wireless PC users to project PowerPoint and other data in meeting rooms, auditoriums, and other presentation environments.

Intersil's PRISM solutions deliver wireless Ethernet networking with compliance to the Wi-Fi global standard. Designed for 11Mbps data rate performances, the PRISM chipset will provide users of the Gemtek WX-2301 with wireless access to networks and the Internet for fast transmission of data, video, and VoIP services.

"The Gemtek WX-2301 illustrates the potential of Intersil's PRISM chipset solution to provide wireless connectivity," said Larry Ciaccia, VP and GM for Intersil's Wireless Networking Product Group. "Wi-Fi functionality is opening up new avenues of data and visual communications in education, home, business, and government applications. Intersil's PRISM technology is freeing users from wired connections and opens up whole new possibilities for business and SOHO applications for the mobile workforce."
