GlobalTRONICS 2002 to highlight Asian electronics future

GlobalTRONICS 2002, one of the major manufacturing and electronics exhibition and conferences in Asia, will be held on September 3 - 6, 2002, at the Singapore Expo Hall. International presence is expected to comprise of 10 National Pavilions representing China, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and U.K.

Ng Chuan Yong, VP of Reed Exhibitions Pte Ltd, the event organizer for GlobalTRONICS 2002, said: "We are very pleased with the level of interest from buyers around the region. This is also against a backdrop of strong international media presence of over 10 National Pavilions, and our 14,000 regular visitors from over 30 countries. It is clear that attendees look upon GlobalTRONICS as an opportunity to identify embryonic trends and technologies."

The GlobalTRONICS 2002 will incorporate five integral representative of the electronics industry: Nepcon Asia-Pacific, Electrotest Asia, Asia Electronics, Electronics Manufacturing Services Asia, and International Procurement.

Selected summit topics include: The impact of China on electronics manufacturing in South East Asia, The future of contract manufacturing in Asia, Global trends in technology and strategy in the electronics industry, Business Outlook - Global Electronics Industry, and The Impact of Strategic Procurement in the e-commerce Industry. These topics will be addressed in the GlobalTRONICS Business Summit (GBS) and GlobalTRONICS Technology Summit (GTS).

Further, the event will have prominent speakers from companies such as Ariba, Celestica, Cookson Electronics Process Technology, Custer Consulting Group, Gartner Dataquest Asia Pacific, In-Stat/MDR, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, Infineon Technologies, Intel, Microcircuit Technology, Microsoft, Nanyang Technological University, Nokia, Seagate, and Solectron Asia.

As GlobalTRONICS makes a gradual transition to more cutting-edge technology and higher value-added manufacturing services, the launch of Design Asia Pavilion as a dedicated forum and showcase for new breakthroughs in the design arena is timely with the upcoming forecast for design in the electronics industry. Companies from leading industries including Agilent, Altera, Infineon, Microchip, Xilinx, and ST Microelectronics will showcase at this pavilion.
