Suitable for use in IEEE 802.11b and 802.11g WLAN products, the P2020 power amplifier from RF Solutions Inc. operates from a single 3.3V power supply and provides a power gain of 30dB.

In the 802.11b mode, the device meets all the Adjacent Channel Power Ratio requirements at an output power of 23dBm. When used in the 802.11g mode at a data rate of 54Mbps, the devices has an output power of 20dBm, error vector magnitude of <4 percent, and consumes 140mA.

Designed to integrate with WLAN transceiver chipsets, the amplifier is housed in a 3-by-3mm package and features an on-chip, self-regulating dynamic power control, eliminating the need for external control circuitry to regulate current consumption.

The P2020 is also equipped with a sleep mode feature limiting the current consumption to <1mA when not in use.
