Teradyne's Assembly Test Division has announced the immediate availability of the TestStation SE in-circuit test (ICT) system, targeted towards manufacturers of high volume electronics assemblies that require high throughput, test accuracy, and improved reliability at lower test costs.

"The TestStation SE is designed to be a cost effective ICT solution for the high-volume consumer, computer and communications electronics market," said Jim Ficaro manager of the electronics test group.

"It combines the reliability and performance of Teradyne's proven ICT technologies, with the convenience of a customer friendly test programming environment, and a worldwide network of support and service that is second to none," he added.

The TestStation SE is a small footprint ICT that can be configured with up to 2,560 all-real (non-mux) channels, a high accuracy PRISM analog measurement instrument, and in-depth digital test capabilities. It is available with a number of industry-standard fixture interfaces to preserve current investments and minimize transition costs.

Test capabilities include standard shorts and opens testing, analog value and digital function testing, vectorless opens testing using Deltascan and Framescan, reduced-access boundary scan testing using Teradyne's Victory software, fast programming of on-board Flash and ISP components using Lightning hardware, and combinational testing using optional VXI test instruments.

System hardware is controlled by Teradyne's worksheet-based software, while the operator-user interface is available in both English and Chinese languages.

The TestStation SE is supported by the company's D2B (design to build) software suite, featuring D2B A3, and D2B Strategist. D2B A3 is used to translate CAD designs, import BOM data, assign test probe locations, and output customized files.

D2B Strategist is a decision-making software solution that enables the deployment of complementary distributed test strategies and the ability to run multiple "what if" scenarios in seconds.

The TestStation SE is priced starting at $105,000.

Teradyne is an exhibitor at the GlobalTRONICS 2002 to be held on September 3 to 6 at the Singapore Expo Hall. GlobalTRONICS 2002 is organized by Reed Exhibitions Pte Ltd.
