The 80C10 optical sampling module is claimed to be world's first 40Gbps optical reference receiver (ORR) that supports both the ITU-T G.709 FEC standard (43.018Gbps) and the OC-768/STM-256 (39.018Gbps).
The plug-in module also has a 65GHz optical bandwidth capability to provide the needed measurement headroom to ensure stable measurements on 40Gbps.
"Being the first to offer integrated optical reference receivers for 40Gbps and continuing to push both optical and electrical bandwidth higher, underscores the company's enabling role in evolving a new generation of optical communications products," said Rick King, Vice President, Optical Business, Tektronix.
"This achievement sets the stage for design and manufacturing solutions that will support product prototyping, pilot production and ultimately, full-scale production of 40Gbps components and network elements," he added.
Tektronix is an exhibitor at the IIC-China Fall 2002 and the 5th Annual Communications Design China & Exhibition to be held from September 19 to 20 in Guangzhou and from September 23 to 24 in Chengdu. Both eeEvents are organized by eMedia Asia Ltd, a Global Sources and CMP Media joint venture. |
