Philips reaffirms relationship with Ericsson Mobile Platforms

Royal Philips Electronics and Ericsson Mobile Platforms have signed an agreement which reinforces their strategic partnership in the development of 2.5G and 3G mobile handset technologies utilizing Philips' semiconductor capabilities.
Under the terms of the agreement Philips will serve as a source for semiconductor devices for Ericsson reference designs, making its latest semiconductor technologies available to Ericsson. The cooperation will give Ericsson access to Philips' semiconductor product and technology portfolio including RF ASICs, baseband ASICs, power amplifiers, and power management units.
With this partnership, the two companies aim at driving the development of next-generation mobile handsets, enabling multimedia and image transition applications for end-users. |
