Fujitsu MCUs function as laptop keyboard controllers

Fujitsu Ltd has announced the availability of a pair of 16-bit microcontrollers with built-in power management functions for use as mobile PC keyboard controllers. The MB0F372 and MB90372 are part of the company's MB90370 series in its F2MC family of microcontrollers.

Manufactured using a 0.355m CMOS process, both devices offer 351 instructions that can be executed in 62.5ns at 4MHz. The 16MHz devices operate from a 3V to 3.6MHz and feature 6KB of RAM, 64KB of Flash for the MB90F372, and 64KB of mask ROM for the MB90372.

The 144-pin LQFP devices also feature 12-channel ADC, 2-channel DAC, 16-bit reload timer, PPG timer, 18-bit timebase timer, and watchdog timer. Interfaces include LPC, PS/2, I2S, and UART.

The MB90F372 is sampling at about $12.51, while the MB90372 is quoted at about $6.25.
