Zetex varactors fit low voltage systems

Offering a tuning range of 0.5V to 2.5V, the ZV950 series of hyperabrupt varactor diodes from Zetex is designed to meet the needs of 3V frequency control and filtering systems such as crystal oscillator temperature stabilizing circuits, and the loop and filter sections of PLLs.

The varactors are claimed to provide high Q operation at reverse voltages as low as 0.5V. They also have 10pA of reverse leakage current to provide improved phase noise performance.

Available in SOD523 packaging, the ZV950, ZV952, and ZV953 have a nominal capacitance of 9.5pF, 19pF, and 45pF, respectively, at a bias voltage of 0.5V and 1MHz frequency.

The company has also introduced the ZMDC953 dual common cathode variant when a close tuner diode matching is required. The SOT323 device integrates two low voltage varactors and shares the same characteristics as the ZV953.
