Intersil's Endura ISL6141, ISL6142, ISL6151, and ISL6152 offer programmability, improved monitoring and better protection to the company's datacom/telecom negative-voltage hot-plug power controller family.

They operate over a range of -20V to -80V (-100V max), and provide undervoltage and overvoltage protection to prevent startup before power is stable. IntelliTrip dual-level current limiting provides accurate current limiting for 6005s before shutdown during a fault or quick shutdown, followed by a single soft start in the event of a hard fault.

The ISL-6142 and -52 offer programmable current limiting, with up to 4x current-limit capability. All devices have soft-start to eliminate startup surges and an improved power-good indicator (ISL-6141 and ISL-6151 are active-low, ISL-6142 and ISL-6152 are active-high) to monitor drain and gate voltages.

The ISL-6142 and ISL-6152 offer a real-time load-current monitor to determine power dissipation in the load without the need for another resistor in the current path. The devices come in 8- and 14-pin SOICs. Pricing runs from $2.19 to 2.65 each depending on temperature range.
