Asahi Kasei Microsystems Co., Ltd has introduced the AK4381 and AK4384, 192kHz 24-bit DACs that are suitable for use in DVD, A/V, automotive audio, and digital musical instrument applications.

Both 16-pin TSSOPs use the company's multi-bit delta-sigma modulator and the low jitter performance of the switched-capacitor (SC) technology. Both also incorporate de-emphasis filters and soft mute capabilities, left and right independent zero detection pins, and independent digital attenuators (volume controls).

The AK4381 has full differential outputs, offers 108dB SNR, and is fully compatible with the company's previous AK4382A device. The AK4384 has single-ended outputs, 106dB SNR, and offers a parallel control mode.
