Delphi Corp., a provider of mobile electronics and transportation components and systems technology, has enlarged its Software Technical Center located in Bangalore, India. The center, which includes office spaces and a number of test labs, now has an extended floor space of 60,000 sq. feet, from the previous 20,000. This expansion will allow Delphi to hire up to 200 engineers for this facility alone.

According to Delphi, the Bangalore Technical Center plays a critical role in providing embedded software systems for many of Delphi's product lines, such as diesel common rail engine management systems and advanced mobile multimedia systems. The facility also supports other Delphi products including gasoline powertrain controls, advanced steering and braking, and chassis control systems.

The technical center is slated to become Delphi's global center of expertise for the development of web-based tools to automate engineering and business processes. The company also has technical centers in Japan, Korea, and Singapore.
