Maxwell Technologies Inc. released what it claims to be the industry's first and only space-qualified, quad multiplying DAC. The 8408 is a monolithic, quad 8-bit multiplying DAC CMOS converter, based on Analog Devices' 8408 product, with four separate DACs, each with its own reference input and on-board data latches.

The device features a R/W function that serves as an accessible memory location for systems that may require self-diagnostics, as well as in process-controlled systems and multichannel architectures.

It also features common TTL/CMOS inputs and is compatible with 8-bit microprocessors such as 6800, 8080, 8085, and Z80.
