The DS1100 all-silicon 5-tap delay line from Dallas Semiconductor is packaged in an 8-pin microSOP casing - 50 percent smaller than similar competing devices.

The device provides a 500ns delay and is positioned as a drop-in replacement for the company's DS1000 product. The new delay line is also claimed to provide twice the delay precision with an 80 percent reduction in jitter.

The DS1100 offers five equally spaced taps that give delays up to five times the input-pulse width while maintaining delay precision. Accuracy is specified over both commercial and industrial temperature ranges.

The device is available in a 5V (DS1100) and 3V (DS1100L) that are also packaged in 8-pin SOPs. In addition, the DS1100 is also available in 8-pin DIPs.
