Superior Essex rolls out reduced-diameter cable

The DataGain 450 Cat.6 data cable from Superior Essex is constructed without a cross-web filler that reduces the cable diameter to 5.08mm, allowing around 30 percent more cables to fit into a 101.6mm.

It features a flame-retardant PVC jacket, while the 23AWG bare copper conductors feature CMR, polyolefin, CMP, and FEP insulation materials. Tested over the 1MHz to 450MHz, the DataGain 450 offers an insertion loss ranging from 2dB/100m to 44.8dB/100m and a return loss of 16dB/100m to 21dB/100mm.
