Sola/Hevi-Duty's SDN4-24-100 series of three 24Vdc power supplies has been designed to meet Open DeviceNet Vendors Association specs for either thin- or thick-cable DeviceNet applications in process control, industrial control, and building automation.

The company said the series meets UL1950 limited-power-source requirements and provides current limiting, even under abnormal conditions.

The second supply, the SDN8-24-100REDA, is designed for installations that utilize the full 8A capability of thick-cable systems. It offers a built-in isolation diode for multiple-supply installations, a power-good signal and pluggable screw terminal connections to ease wiring.

The third supply, the SDP4-24-100, is claimed to support the highest current possible while meeting the NEC Class 2 rating. It provides up to 4.2A and accents small package size.

The supplies offer short circuit, over-voltage and over-temperature protection; a metal case; and a DIN connector. Each has a large front panel with multiple terminations for access andm ounting. The supplies are priced at $169 each in unit quantities.

DeviceNet is a low-cost way to connect industrial devices to a network and eliminate expensive wiring. Direct connectivity is intended to improve communication between devices and to provide device-level diagnostics not easily accessible or available through hardwired I/O interfaces.
