Ericsson Technology Licensing has granted VIA Technologies Inc. rights to its Bluetooth IPs, specifically the Ericsson Bluetooth Radio and Baseband Cores for use across a variety of PC-based and mobile applications. VIA is a developer of PC core logic chipsets, microprocessors, and multimedia, communications, optical media, and networking chips.
Sweden-based Ericsson Technology Licensing specializes in Bluetooth design solutions and is the first company to put Bluetooth consumer products into mass production. Apart from the Bluetooth radio and baseband cores, VIA also has access to Ericsson's Bluetooth host and embedded Stack software.
"VIA plays a leading role in the development of products for PCs and mobile devices," said Maria Khorsand, President of Ericsson Technology Licensing, "and we look forward to working with one of the most established companies in the industry. Ericsson and VIA share a lot of the same goals, and our cooperation should serve to strengthen both companies' positions in their respective markets." |
