Specifically designed for use in professional two-way radio systems, the CMX881 half-duplex audio and signaling processor IC from CML Microcircuits (UK) Ltd draws 600?A at a supply of 2.7V.

Available in a 28-pin SSOP or TSSOP packages, the device requires a small, low-power ?C and performs voiceband and sub-audio filtering, pre/de-emphasis and audio routing, and digital level setting for single or two-point modulation in the transmit path.

For trunked radio requirements, the CMX881 offers an embedded 1.2Kbps/2.4Kbps MSK/FFSK modem with checksum generation, reception, and sync detection in the receive path.
