The ERbic MAX Profibus IDC Switch bus interface connector from the ERNI Group of Companies features a die-cast metal housing that allows the device to be used in applications that have strict EMC requirements.

The device also features an axial cable outlet positioned in the mating direction, enabling it to achieve a narrow and slim form required in applications where two bus interfaces need to be on top of each other.

It also includes an integrated switch that can turn the termination on or off. When a Profibus network is extended, the ERbic, in which termination is active, can simply be switched to the node version without termination. For error diagnosis at a particular bus device it is possible to terminate the bus, and to decouple the device.

Integrated SM inductors allow the connector to be used in data rates of up to 12Mbps.
