The off-the-shelf PC/104 form factor module measures 90.17-by-95.89mm and uses Aeroflex UTMC's S5MMIT MIL-STD-1553 support chip to operate as a data bus controller, remote terminal, or bus monitor for a variety of 1553 military avionics and ground vehicle applications such as navigation and altitude, weapon status indications, target tracks, and electronic warfare.
Four 16-bit register locations allow complete access to interface functions through PC/104 I/O space, while test routines enable access to memory and internal registers. The support chip also allows interrupts to be generated and routed to the PC/104 bus.
The Ethernet portion of the board is fully NE2000 and NE2000-Plus compatible and based on the National Semiconductor's AT/Lantic AT DP83905 chip.
The standard version of the board includes a 4-pin, low-profile Molex connector for 10BaseT connections, enabling a standard RJ-45 jack to be cabled out for panel-mounting in a faceplate, endcap, housing, or bulkhead.
The board operates from a 5Vdc source and is rated over the extended operating temperature range of -400C to 850C. It is priced at $1,575 each in volume orders of 100 or more. |
