The DS1086 spread-spectrum clock oscillator from Dallas Semiconductor Corp. features user-programmable spread settings, and is claimed to reduce radiated emissions by up to 20dB.

A part of the company's EconOscillator product line, the 8-pin SOP device is suitable for use as a standalone oscillator to generate clock outputs from 360kHz to 133MHz. It operates from a 5V input and has a 2-wire serial interface to allow in-circuit, on-the-fly programming of control registers.

Prices start at $3 in 1,000 and up unit quantities.
