Yageo Corp. has announced the availability of a 433MHz and 870MHz miniature antenna suitable for use in low-data transfer, unidirectional wireless communication systems such as remote controls. Marketed under the Phycomp brand, the antennas feature the company's low-temperature cofired ceramic technology used by Bluetooth and WLAN antennas.
The 433MHz device measures 37.5-by-6.8-by-0.9mm and is targeted for use in applications such as TV receiver and car ignition key remote controls, remote fire detectors, and wireless-based identification tags for routing luggage in airports.
The 870MHz device measures 16.5-by-14-by-0.9 mm and is used for similar functions as the 433MHz version, as well as applications that require a faster response such as remote-controlled garage-door opening systems.
Both antennas connect to the RF module on the board via 50-ohm transmission line. A 460MHz and 490MHz antenna is also available that feature the same dimensions as the 460MHz. |
