C-MAC TCXO withstands 20,000g of acceleration

The CFPT-9025 TCXO from C-MAC MicroTechnology withstands up to 20,000g of acceleration and is suitable for use in military GPS receiver apps found in guided missiles, mortar shells, and other smart munitions that employ GPS satellite guidance.

Packaged in a ceramic SMD measuring 9.22-by-7.57-by-3mm, the device has a nominal frequency range between 10MHz to 50MHz with a stability specification of 1ppm when exposed to the 20,000g acceleration.

It operates from a 3.3V supply, provides a clipped sinewave output, and exhibits a temperature stability of 1ppm over the -55C to 95C temperature range by using the company's Pluto temperature compensation ASIC. Shock resistance is achieved through a special g-hardened crystal resonator mounted onto a ceramic substrate, with the Pluto ASIC embedded within it.

A variant for handheld GPS receivers is also available. It features a 5ppm temperature stability over the -40C to 70C temperature range and has a lower shock resistance specification.
