Ethertronics Inc. has entered a product integration deal with Magnolia Broadband Inc., a developer of antenna diversity chipsets for mobile phones.

Under the terms of the agreement, Ethertronics will design and deliver a custom TrueWave diversity antenna solution which will be integrated into Magnolia Broadband's CDMA chipsets. The companies will jointly integrate and test the combined TrueWave antenna and chipset solution, which Magnolia Broadband will then market to global CDMA phone manufacturers.

The integrated solution is expected to enable CDMA phone manufacturers add multiple internal antennas to existing handset designs with external antennas, increasing the phone's functionality.

"Our patented antenna technology with its isolation properties optimizes the performance of Magnolia's RF ASIC design to improve wireless device connectivity and alleviate the integration hurdles posed by multiple antenna systems," commented Bruce Gray, CEO of Ethertronics. "Pairing our synergistic technologies allows us to deliver an innovative, commercially-viable diversity solution which increases the range and performance of new CDMA devices entering the market."
