Celestica, Palm enter repair/logistics contract

Palm Inc., a supplier of handheld-computing products, has signed an agreement with EMS company Celestica Inc. under which, Celestica will provide outsourced repair and reverse-logistics operations worldwide.
Under the terms of agreement, Celestica will perform warranty and non-warranty repairs, and manage all logistics in the Americas, Europe, Middle East/Africa and Asia for Palm brand handhelds. Celestica also will assume responsibility for parts, software and repair processes through end-of-life for each product.
Tom Kent, vice president, Repair Services, Celestica, said, "By relying on Celestica's industry-leading repair services and logistics capabilities, Palm will be able to focus on its core competencies of innovative product design and marketing, and offer its customers effective, easy-to-access repair services on a global basis, ultimately improving customer satisfaction." |
