Taiwan-based motherboard manufacturer Micro-Star Int. Co. Ltd (MSI) has adopted Cambridge Silicon Radio's (CSR) BlueCore chip for its latest wireless module which combines both Bluetooth and WLAN protocol 802.11b. The module is being supplied with the company's mainboard 845PE Max2.

The new combo module will support both WLAN 802.11b and Bluetooth to enable a desktop PC to be wirelessly connected to a range of devices including network access of up to 11Mbps, using 802.11b and low power connection to a wireless desktop (such as mouse, keyboard, PDA, Printer), personal area networks, and cellphones and Modems via DUN (Dial-Up Networking) using Bluetooth.

Earlier this year CSR cooperated with MSI to bring Bluetooth onto the motherboard for the first time.
