Accent Srl and Telecom Italia Lab have joined ATAP, ARM Ltd's technology access program. The membership of the two companies brings the total number of ATAP Partners to 36, and further strengthens ARM's design resources in Italy and the rest of Europe. Further, these new Partners increase the ATAP program engineering resource to more than 3,350 engineers.

Accent, a design center in Italy, will bring its expertise in silicon implementation and design flows to the ARM ATAP program and its Foundry Program Partners.

"Accent pioneered ARM core-based SoC and IP hardening design in the late 1990s," said ATAP program manager, David Lewis. "With its expertise and leadership in the development of ARM core-based SoCs, Accent will provide our Partners with extra design resources, enabling them to bring their products to market quickly."

Italy-based Telecom Italia Lab's SoC Division, on the other hand, is a support provider in the design of advanced solution for wireline, wireless, and networking systems - from system definition to hardware and embedded software implementation.

"Telecom Italia Labs brings to the ATAP Partnership a system level perspective and expertise in the modeling and implementation of mobile, home gateway, and smart card products based on the ARM architecture," said David Lewis, ATAP program manager, ARM. "Telecom Italia Labs are enabling the acceleration of product development and new services deployment, and their methodology is a perfect fit with the ARM total solution.
