Sharp composite memory targets next-gen cellphone apps

Sharp Corp. has announced that it has developed a composite memory device with a capacity of 320Mb that is housed in a three-chip stacked CSP and is targeted for use in next-generation cellphone functions such as digital video content transmission and reception, as well as high-resolution camera photography.

The LRS1833 integrates 256Mb of NOR Flash memory and 64Mb of RAM, and exhibits a normal access time of 65ns. It has a footprint of 126mm? and allows designers to reduce the mounting area by about 30 percent compared to existing composite memory solutions.

Samples are priced at about $97.60.
