Tyco ships lead-free PolySwitch device for telecom apps

The company's TRF250-180 is touted to be the Raychem Circuit Protection's first lead-free PolySwitch resettable device for telecom and networking applications.

Suitable for protecting xDSL modems, splitters, and MDF equipment, the PolySwitch device provides resettable overcurrent protection and has a new insulating coating that improves mechanical characteristics. Aside from power faults, the TRF250-180 also protects against lightning surges according to the ITU-T K20/21/45.

The TRF250-180 device is available in tape and reel packaging for compatibility with high-volume manufacturing, or in bulk quantities. It is priced at 22 cents each in quantities of 100,000.
